Clinical Pilates

Pilates is an excellent tool for rehabilitating injuries. Essentially it is a mind and body centering technique that emphasises the importance of beginning movement from a central core of stability, namely the lumbo-pelvic region. From this central core, the Pilates method works by adjusting the intensity of each exercise through the use of differing limb movements and resistance with the use of equipment.

Clinical Pilates differs from standard Pilates in that the principles have been adapted to improve the safety and effectiveness of the exercises focusing on the key elements that improve back and neck pain.

Our Clinical Pilates classes are taught by highly experienced Physiotherapists with post-graduate training in Clinical Pilates (APPI Qualified) and movement dysfunction ensuring that your sessions are effective and safe.  As well as treating the symptoms we aim to identify the cause, correct any postural problems, muscle imbalance or movement dysfunction.

Our team of instructors are ready to assist you with pinpointing your weak areas and tailoring an appropriate exercise programme. A Chartered Physiotherapist has the detailed anatomical knowledge and rehabilitation skills to ensure that you are receiving the most up to date beneficial treatment for your problem, and are often involved in teaching Clinical Pilates to patients that have undergone recent spinal surgery.

Our aim is to create a more balanced and injury free body!
