Injection therapy is the treatment of musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders by the localised injection of a drug (usually a corticosteroid with or without a local anaesthetic). This approach has been utilised for over 50 years and there is a wealth of evidence both anecdotal and research based supporting its use.
The NHS has recommended the use of injection therapy in its national guidelines for the treatment of knee and shoulder problems. It is accepted that, given its relative safety, ease of application (in trained hands) and cost-effectiveness, that injection therapy is a very useful treatment modality.
If you feel you would benefit from this treatment approach then please discuss it with a member of our team, or complete the contact us form below.
The cost for each injection varies and in some instances, the cost can be covered by your insurance company. Again, please feel free to discuss this with us.
