Upon arrival you will need to complete a patient registration form, so it’s a good idea to arrive a little bit early for your first appointment. We will take your details, GP details, medical insurance information and ask for your consent for us to treat you at The Physiotherapy Clinic, Stotfold.

One of our Physiotherapists will take a full and thorough history, including any relevant medical information. You will be asked lots of questions about your problem including how it started, how your condition progressed, where you feel your pain and what aggravates and eases it.

Your Physiotherapist will fully examine the area and perform a series of movements and specific tests. They will also use their hands to feel for any tenderness or abnormalities. Whenever possible you will be provided with a clear diagnosis. It is imperative that you know what is wrong with you.

We use use a mixture of diagrams, pictures and models to explain our diagnosis. This is also a great opportunity to ask as many questions as you like to get a full understanding of your condition. The therapist will then explain how we can help you.

This will involve an explanation of the treatment techniques and exercises that you will benefit from and what you can do to help yourself. You will leave your first session with a clear understanding of the process required to return you to full health and the treatment plan that will get you there.

If we feel that you need more than physiotherapy, we can contact your GP or Consultant to arrange further investigations such as scans or specialist appointments, often on the very same day. We work closely with GP’s and Consultants in many Private Hospitals, sharing treatment plans, progress and any concerns.
